Job Title: Director of Family Ministries
Reports to: Church Pastor and Christian Education Committee
Hours: Part-time, up to 12 hours a week (Sunday mornings plus a flexible schedule)
Effective Start Date: As soon as possible
Job Description: The Director of Family Ministries will be a leader with a joyful desire to foster the religious and
spiritual formation of children and youth. This includes Sunday mornings, and other programming at different times during the week.
Essential Job Duties:
· Coordinate pre-K through 12th grade Sunday School
· Recruit/equip volunteers
· Attend Christian Education Meetings, and when asked, other church meetings
· Oversee events that include, but are not limited to: Christmas Program, Youth Sunday, Easter Egg Hunt, and
Vacation Bible School
· Support the coordination of the Confirmation Program with the Pastor.
· Coordinate/Support/Develop other opportunities for families and youth
· Build contacts with community members for potential outreach opportunities
· Coordinate mission trips for Youth and Adults
· Work with families of youth to develop an activities calendar each year.
· At least monthly, present the children’s message during worship.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience working with children, youth ministry, or within other related fields.
Displays strong administrative, planning, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and cooperatively.
Ability to teach songs and lead singing is desired, but not required for the position.
Possesses creativity to develop innovative programming.
Technology skills, including but not limited to multiple social media platforms.
Light lifting, standing, and walking short to long distances might be required.
Understanding of the United Church of Christ.
